Two Ingredients, Five Years Apart

小满福饼 is built from two things that started in completely different places: moonlight white (月光白) from Jinggu, made in 2019 from early-spring one-bud-two-leaf material using natural withering, and aged tangerine peel (陈皮) from Xinhui's Dahongpi core production zone, harvested in 2016. Neither was made with the other in mind. The cake exists because someone pressed them together in April 2021, five years after the chenpi was first picked.

The pairing isn't decorative. Chenpi is warming and aromatic, and tea drinkers describe the two as 相得益彰 — each one making the other better rather than just sitting alongside it. The moonlight white brings its usual high amino-acid sweetness and bright, clear cup; the chenpi adds a citrus warmth that shows up mostly on the exhale, after the tea itself has already been swallowed.

Two ingredients with five years between their own origin stories, brought together only at the point of pressing — proof that not every Baoputang tea needs a single point of origin to make sense.
